Thank you for the good vote Matthew. It's a great place - relatively remote (though summertime you sure don't feel alone there) and very very beautiful! Check it out next time you're in the Spud State :)
have an "untitled comment?" Great page, Radek! I guess it
doesn't surprise YOU that I've never been there. I always
got as far as those waterfalls that come out of the rocks.
Then, I always continued up to Oregon to check out the
Columbia Gorge & Cascade volcanoes. Twin Falls always seemed
like a "laid back" place. Thanks for the information, and I
promise to remember your name. (Keep lookin' for those suds!)
"Why does everybody have an "untitled comment?"
Larry - those are from the SP version 1 days...different animal. You should check out City of Rock next time you have a chance - a spectacular area whether you're camping, hiking, or climbing. Cheers!
my rap beta under Tow Away Zone is incomplete..."Double ropes if going for top belay option." I don't think a single 70m will make the ground (not 100% sure) from this horn but there's obviously an intermediate station on the next door route (2 short raps). Re-did Funky Bolt (Shirley wanted to lead it) 2 days ago and recalled what a fun pitch that was! Page is looking great!! cheers.
I was climbing with Joanne and Jorge at Castle Rocks State Park today...ran into someone who said they knew you.....Jorge was talking to them while Joanne and I were getting ready for a climb....they knew my name through you. I never spoke to them really....cheers
Curious to know more about Castle Rock place - never been. Seems we always settle for the familiar City of Rocks at the tail end of that 10 hr drive :)

Radek, just took Joanne up this pitch this afternoon...all I can say is wow dude...best one here for me so far....thanks for the beta.....going to start off with Animal Cracker tomorrow...I need that bigger book...this select Falcon Guide misses way too much..cheers
Hi Dow, we also liked that one (esp. Shirley :). Apparently there are 2 editions of the newer, thicker guidebook (we have the slightly older of the two). Well worth the few bucks esp. considering that you're spending quite a bit of time there now. Great job on the page BTW!
Just got it Radek as I left the City this trip...think it is the newer one, different stuff than Joanne's version...Yellow Wall, Animal Cracker, Stress Fracture and Thin Slice...my favorites so far...willing to completely focus on the Twins area next trip (Yellow Wall, etc.)...we are talking about taking down that group site...maybe you folks can join us...off to Canada...prob won't hit the City again until next summer...have a good season if I don't see you out and about..cheers
Tony Calderone has published a new and updated City of Rocks Climbing Guidebook. With over 1000 routes this is the most comprehensive guidebook to "The City" every published. Tony plans on updating this guidebook monthly, and has also created a detailed City trail map.
