Still a lot of snow and run-off from the mountains into the gulch. The trail itself is still buried under snow or has been overtaken by the water. Had to branch off earlier and go the more vertical route up through the boulder fields versus ascending via the saddle. Totally worth it as always though. I would just recommend this route in late summer.
If you go now, CR 260 is still closed, so that will add 2 miles each way.
