Caribou  Sucess!

Liked the steep grass slope, but not the boulders.

Mosquito Mountain  Sucess!

I traveled on my mountain bike from Idaho Falls and reached the base of the mountain late in the evening. The rough road going towards the mountain is very steep. The forest on the slope of Caribou Mountain was full of mosquitos. When it got a little colder in the night and mosquitos stopped flying, huge swarms of tiny little flies started biting me ferociously. They were inside my sleeping bag and everywhere. So I got up at 5 in the morning and set off towards the summit, taking the middle route. On the top there was light wind, breathtaking views of endless mountain ridges, remains of snow and colorful wildflowers. There are many streams flowing down from the mountain with crystal clear water and the vegetation is lush and green. This is awesome wild country.

Caribou Mountain  Sucess!

I hiked Caribou Mountain sometime in October 1996. It was during hunting season and we hiked up from one of the mines below the mountain. I learned a lot about wild animals and tracking them during these trips.

NW Ridge   Sucess!

This area has some big mosquitos and other bugs to deal with. I went up the Northwest ridge, which is pretty much a talus effort for the first 2/3rds. Coming down, I went down the middle which was steep but doable.
