"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

From Cabin Ridge THIf you can handle the dusty Rampart Range Road, this is a decent getaway from south Denver. I followed the 675 trail until it intersected with 770. About 50 feet after this intersection is an old, closed trail (I never saw a sign for 676). I went down this for about 50 feet to a fairly new single track. I headed west for what felt like a few miles. At some point, I came upon a turn in the trail where there is a very faint, right hand path going up. This was pretty close to Campbell and it felt like I was near the high point, so I left the trail here and headed northwest. At first I climbed the initial boulder but soon realized it cliffs out. I had to reverse and make my way around the north side and then scrambled up to the summit. Nice day, but I'm tired!!

From Cabin Ridge TrailheadThis was a great little surprise of a peak! The trail was hot and dusty, but once I left the old decommissioned path, I entered a nice, peaceful world. The off-trail section of this peak involves nice route-finding and easy scampering to find the critical weakness to the saddle that carries you to the summit. I really enjoyed this little solo outing!
