Very interesting page again. Congratulations, Gangolf! So, you didn't have such a bad weather?

Thanks Vid! I showed the pictures to Judith's sister last night. And she said: "You are always complaining about the weather but I don't see anything bad". Of course I didn't shoot while it was raining.... But you are right: We had 4 perfect days and two average ones. Getting up early helps, too.

Beautiful page about a spectacular place! Somehow the entire first half of the page is an html link to itself, though. Is this the caldera I saw on the Discovery Channel? They had a program about tsunamis and featured this caldera (Ithink.), because if it slid into the ocean violently enough, it might generate a wave that could devastate the E coast of the Americas.

Thanks Eric. For the time being the links for those three summits on the pano direct back to this page. I intend to submit them in the near future and since I have been struggling enough with this bit of html I decided to already place a link.
As for the Discovery Channel Program: it certainly featured the caldera, though this is not the part of the island which is supposed to create the Tsunami. This would be Cumbre Vieja (the southern half of the island - compare the map) where nowadays the volcanic activities take place.
I wrote a little about the theory on the Volcán Teneguía Page since this little summit belongs to the Cumbre Vieja Range and was the last of the volcanoes which erupted.
VERY impressive page! Your html skills are equally impressive, too. I had no idea the canaries had such peaks.

Thanks Don! I stole the html from one of the posts of the message boards. I don't even know who it was who posted. Livioz sent the code to me and I adapted it to my needs. Actually I still haven't quite understood it :o)
As for the mountains - it helps if they are covered in snow. That way they look as impressive as they really are. If you look at the picture postcards the single mountains almost don't stand out among the remainder of the caldera crest.
And of course the grandfather of all Canarian Mountains is this one here
On an amazing national park!
I had no idea such a place existed so close by, when I read about it a few years ago. Since then, I've been hiking there and it's a really magical place.
