Route Climbed: Bubble Pond trail Date Climbed: August 2004
My friends and I had the bright idea of hiking Cadillac before 5.a.m. to see the sunrise from the top. bubble Pond trail is the shortest and we hiked it in under an hour. However, it is very hard to stay on a poorly marked trail in the dark, and it is very foggy on top of Cadillac at 5 something a.m. But it was fun. Acadia is waaayyyy too crowded in the summer. I think I'll stick to x-country skiing there.
Route Climbed: Wonderwall on Otter Cliffs Date Climbed: August 15, 2004
Climbed on the Otter Cliffs just south ot the Sand Beach in the evening with Jon Tierny of Acadia Mountaineering. My first climb in 4 years. I did Wonderwall middle 5.6 and Wonderwall the crack to the right of the middle at 5.5. The tide was out leaving a large bench to start on.
First time I went to the top of Cadillac, my wife and I watched the most amazing meteor storm as we lay on the hood of our rented car. Unforgettable. Not sure if you can drive up there at night anymore.
Route Climbed: The road, by car Date Climbed: July, 1963
I was near the summit of this mountain with my father and brother to watch a total eclipse of the sun. The town of Bar Harbor was mostly buried under a sea of clouds, but we saw the eclipse clearly from up here. It was incredible.

Route: ? (trail)Perhaps my first summit ever. I recall being slightly disappointed by the line of parked RVs near the summit, but it was still a fun climb.

Route Climbed: West Ridge Date Climbed: September 7, 2004A great, short but steep, hike to the high point of Acadia National Park. My wife Julie and I thoroughly enjoyed this as part of our honeymoon.
