Postpartum hike
Hiked this while terribly out of shape after giving birth to my son 4 months prior. Beautiful and humbling experience.

Byers in the Snow
Started from the TH at around 8:00 am. Temp was 20 degrees. Snow covered the entire trail the whole way, but we didn't need spikes. 8 inches of snow tops on the trail. Sunny day with clear views of northern Colorado. One of my new favorite peaks in the Front Range. Finished by 2:00 pm.
All hell broke loose and it hailed under thunder and lightning. Many will say we should have seen it coming, but 20 mins before it hit us, the sun was shining under partly cloudy skies. Oh well, that’s why you pack rain gear.

Beautiful hike.
Still some snow in the trees and on the ridge but no major problems. Some amazing views from the top. Very nice mountain.

New Byers Peak Trail
My original plan was to hike Greenhorn Mountain south of Pueblo, but I decided to stay closer to Denver. I started around 7AM, reached the summit around 9:30, got back down around 11:30. I didn't see anyone on the way up, until I got near the summit and a trail runner passed me. There were more hikers on the way down. The weather was sunny and beautiful, but with the breeze, we're starting to move into the cooler months. I wanted to go over to Bottle directly from Byers, but I could not find the trail in the trees, and besides, the clouds were already starting to build up. There will be another time.

Route: Trail from Frasier Experimental Forest
Great time. Not many people, just a couple of mountain goats. The tundra was starting to change for autumn. Beautiful hike.
Took the Kinney Creek trail to St Louis Divide trail, up Bills, then out and back to Byers and another out and back to PT 12686 A. A windy day, seemed the wind was always in my face no matter which direction I was going, but luckily the temps were good. Great views in this area of the Gore and IPW!

Beautiful hike, views, and weather! I love this peak-it is a great reconditioner for my post-partum regime! A family of mountain goats greeted us at the summit!

Summit Surprise
We were the only ones on the mountain as we approached the summit. I was 1st to the summit by 45 minutes. As I approached a mountain goat was standing guard at the summit stick. Very cool experience.

A fun climb
I really liked this climb. Short and steep with some fun scrambling on the summit ridge. The weather was excellent and the view was fantastic!

Had the mountain to myself
Besides the two guys at the trailhead I had the mountain to myself. There was a lot of snow up there yet and I'm pretty sure that was the biggest cornice I've personally been around. Impressive. I'll have to upload a pic.

Multiple routes and approaches
Great mountain I used to live near and climb all the time, the first when I was 7. Nice little afternoon trip. Perfect view from the summit. Usually never saw anyone up in there on our traverses of the Vasquez during the weekdays. Favorite place in Colorado, by far.

Great climb from the Winter Park area
We spotted a couple of mountain goats and barely made it back to the car with enough light to see our feet. A wonderful after work climb!
