Tintic area

Recently, on the 20th of November, my wife and I drove out to the Tintic Peak area with the idea of doing Tintic Mtn. However, we got a late start and snow blocked some of the access we were hoping for and decided that with the time allowed, we'd go ahead and do Buckhorn Peak, which is nearby but half the distance and a third of the elevation gain. It turned out to be a good decision. Buckhorn Peak is a neat spot with some big views. A hike takes one to the top of this mountain with superb views to the east. These pics will eventually get incorporated into either a trip report or a mountain page. Located south of the town of Eureka in the Tintic moutains, Buckhorn is worthy of a visit when one also visits Tintic Peak (shown here).

Utah Desert

I agree with you. Many, many great areas out there in the middle of no where. Great album Dean!

Re: Utah Desert

So true. Utah has so many outstanding areas that the desert peaks are pretty much ignored except by ATV'ers and hunters. Not many hikers who venture out there just for the hiking. I'll say it once again, "I love Utah".
