Buck Mountain is at the far left in this view toward the Buck Creek drainage from the slopes north of Buck Creek Pass.

Wonderful photo-gorgeous!

Bob, this is gorgeous! Looks like a great place to lie down and let the afternoon pass. I wish I could give this one 10 stars.

Re: Wonderful photo-gorgeous!

Thanks David! If you've ever been to Buck Creek Pass during the flower season, you will know that any basking in the sun would have to be under a bug netting of some sort. :-) We watched the sunset from up there, and it was exquisite.

Re: Wonderful photo-gorgeous!

Don't lie down in the grass too long in the afternoon because it's 10 miles back to the trailhead (if you're not camping). Incidentally, that's Mt. Cleator at center and Liberty Cap at right (a somewhat shorter Liberty Cap than the Mt. Rainier version).

Tis a good picture, Bob. Thanks for posting it to the Buck page along with the other 8 or so. I can always count on Bob having a picture or two or three or more of a Washington mountain.

Re: Wonderful photo-gorgeous!

You're more than welcome Paul! I've been patiently waiting for someone to post additional peaks for which I have photos - Formidable, Sentinal/Old Guard, Gunsight, Agnes, Le Conte, Johannesburg, Mixup, Logan, Fisher, Spire Point, Dumbell, Tenpeak, Chiwawa, and Clark come to mind. :-)

Re: Wonderful photo-gorgeous!

Planning on climbing Formidable via the North Ridge in about 4 weeks. If I get enough pictures of it, I'll make a sp.com page for it. Will be climbing Clark and Luahna this year too. I'm surprised Chiwawa doesn't have a mountain page devoted to it yet. I'll be climbing that one in tandem with the Red Mountain next door this summer too...shhhh...so we can clear up your little error on sp.com regarding this peak.

Re: Wonderful photo-gorgeous!

I hope you get great photos of all those - but in the case of Formidable, I have some good pix from the Ptarmigan Traverse that I've been wanting to post here, so go ahead and create the page even if you can't get good pix! :-)
