Ugly but unique  Sucess!

This is an ugly mountain but it is unique in that you can actually drive on the old lakebed (playa) to get to a good spot to start the hike from. The best way up this one is to get into the wash and stay in it as it narrows and heads for the saddle. Once at the saddle, it is still a steep hike but the footing is good. Benchmark and registers at the summit. Hiked with Al Sandorff on a fairly warm day.

Desert Solitude  Sucess!

Climbed west ridge from Dry Lake road. Complete solitude except for a couple howling coyotes and a few antelope on the drive to the trailhead. 10 miles RT. Steep climb up scree slopes. Two registers at the summit.
