This was taken by Mike Syvanen after cresting the 6000 ft East Buttress of Denali. The actual summit is a nearby snow covered knoll. To my knowledge no one has walked to the actual summit of the East Buttress as the goal of the climb is to reach the summit of Denali, which is another 6000 ft higher. The climb involved steep ice (60 to 80 deg. in places). The ice screws were used to protect the steep sections.
We used 5x300 ft 3/8" water ski tow rope between the 3 camps we placed on the buttress.
