Big Baldy  Sucess!

My first Idaho County High Point! A gal in an Idaho hiking group posted an extra seat in an airplane as they were flying in to the Indian Creek Airstrip along the Middle Fork of the Salmon. I jumped at the chance, not even knowing what an Idaho County High Point was, I had been dreaming up a backpacking trip along the Middle Fork so I was excited for the chance to be in the area. We hiked from there, 20 miles round trip with a one way elevation gain of 5000'. Excellent trail the whole way.

Wilderness Experience  Sucess!

Awesome adventure with Splattski. A definite wilderness experience, rugged and remote. Added in a bunch of lesser peaks along the way, for a total of almost 40 miles hiked in our three day trip. Trip Report

32 mile effort  Sucess!

Following the Big Baldy ridgeline through miles of burnt forest made this one a hard earned prize. Thank goodness for Buck Lake which seemed like an oasis in the middle of the vast destruction that the somewhat recent fires. My companion was SP member Dennis Poulin and we were both happy to have this one under our belt when we finally got back to our vehicle at the TH but yet, it was a great adventure at the same time. Big Baldy is very unique and will always remain a special summit. This is not one I'd want to do solo and I really appreciated having Dennis on this one.
