Something convenient besides Badger!
Not too long of a drive from Kennewick, took a little over an hour to get here. Much better elevation gain, around 2000 feet within 2 miles, and much better views. Nice hiking area! Herd of Bighorn Sheep on the ridge about halfway to summit.

Great Views!!!
I really enjoyed this hike... especially because it was apparently the only day that week which hikers did not see rattlesnakes along the trail. Baldy is one of those peaks which I look at every time I drive between Ellensburg and Yakima, and I am glad to finally visit it. Great views in every direction. Highly recommended.

Steep!
Hiked the straight-up route from the Yakima River. The description of this trail as steep is no joke!! Watched a herd of mountain goats scrambling up the scree slopes and rock cliffs. Great views of the river canyon and surrounding area!
