I took this picture during my second ascent of Baker Peak on 05-25-2009. This is the ridge you take to Baker Peak.
Baker Peak (7926') had an elevation gain of about 500 feet, and a round trip distance of 2 miles. We went cross country up the ridgeline to the summit which is at the end of a series of false peaks. There were lots of great views of the Upper Kern River Valley from the summit, and we took a few minutes to eat while we were there.
