Late February-March ski backpack in Upper Angara Range of Transbaikalian Siberia in 1986 sent 5 skiers on a 16-day tour of this seldom visited mountain country. We started heavy trailbreaking up Yakchiy Creek, crossing mountain passes over to Upper Angara River and then further North to Left Fork Mama; made two recon loops from the area of the famous Mama Falls, first across the Northern Ranges, then into the heart of the high-altitude country to the South, in headwaters of Ogdynda-Maskit; and finally ascended frozen cascades of Mama Falls. Our return route went up Asikta Valley, over a high pass to Anamakit Valley, and then down another canyon of frozen waterfalls to the Southern taiga plains.

Re: great documentary

Thanks Tomek! The photo quality wasn't good but I hoped to combine them into a good TR, so I put an extra effort into the story and the location of each of them. Of course there are more little stories than there are pictures! Maybe one day...
