North ridge
Climbed from Pacific, third peak today (Crystal-Pacific-Atlantic) from Mayflower Gulch. Talus slope is gentler than Pacific's. Funny seeing all the people on top of Quandry on a Monday, and hardly anyone else around around these peaks today. I was tempted to descend from the West ridge because I thought I was close enough to the Boston mine to avoid the bad scree, talus and cliffs- boy was I wrong! I guess I just wanted to check it out first-hand ;) The descent sucked and wasn't very safe. Don't be fooled and stick to the West ridge on the way down as long as you can.
(Almost) complete solitude on a perfect below zero Easter day. Still winter on this peak in April.

West Ridge
The calendar says spring, but mother nature was still talking winter. A little blustery and the views were white in every direction, but a fun snow ridge nonetheless.

sweet winter ridge
It was a long day but worth it. The ridge was very interesting with perfect snow conditions. Some relatively narrow snow ridges and a big wave shaped cornice livened things up.

McCullough Gulch
This was my first climb of Atlantic. We climbed Pacific as well from the McCullough Gulch trailhead. I returned to this pair 9-2-06.

Winter West Ridge
Great route with a very Alpine feel to it. The 50 mph sustained winds made the trip that much more fun!

winter west ridge
12/10/11- scooted up the west ridge w/mike as a winter training hike. good to be back in the high country!
2/19/08- gave the west ridge a whirl to finish off the tenmile/mosquito centennials in calendar winter. great mountaineering feel to the day and an awesome finisher!

Traverse from Pacific
Quick and easy over from Pacific. Made the mistake of trying to drop down a scree/sand gully(South side of the W Ridge) straight to the old mines, BIG MISTAKE. Horridly loose, slippery, ended in 30ft of chossy class 4 down climbing. Just stick to the West ridge on the descent.
I've approached Fletcher 3 times and turned back from a blizzard from Blue Lakes, and thwumping avalanches from the Mayflower Gulch side. This I climbed the rock rib left of the main gulley from Mayflower Gulch. The rocks were slick as snot from perpetual rain the night before. Clouds rolled in and turned me away from Driftwood, but the clouds seemed stable as I descended. I didn't like the rotten Chamonix looking traverse to Atlantic, so I went up the green south wall of Atlantic Peak nad onto Pacific, then a quick visit to the cute little green horn on the way back to Mayflowwer Gulch.
I didn't visit the rickety mine high on the south wall, but it looked like a very precarious place to extract a living.

North Ridge (Crystal-Pacific-Atlantic)
Number three of three peaks for the day. The climb was uneventfull, but the climb down the West ridge was a highlight. We reached our goal of all three peaks, yippy!

West Ridge Ski Descent
Climbed Atlantic via the West Ridge route. Descended the ridge to 13400' and skied a wide chute that funneled into a few small chutes through a cliff band. Fun day, and much faster than walking the whole way back.

via west ridge
Did Atlantic and Pacific from Mayflower Gulch, up Atlantic's west ridge then up the south slopes of Pacific. We were able to drive up to the end of the road as there wasn't much snow yet. The west ridge is a fun class 2 route.

Atlantis Couloir (ascent); East Couloir (descent)
Skied from the summit! The East Couloir is a much better ski descent than the Atlantis Couloir; it's steeper and continuous from the summit; 4 hours roundtrip.

My first peak!, Seems so long ago, and I've climbed it since, but Atlantic will always be my first ;) Still adore the Tenmile/Mosquito Range 6 years later.
