"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."

West ribClimbed up the west rib from Wildhorse (just north of west face gully). The last 2K was excellent scrambling. I had a blast...until I topped out and every direction was class5 except for the way I came. Had to downclimb ~200' to find an acceptable passage to the west face. IMO this is still a much better way up than climbing the somewhat loose gully--just be sure to move off the ridge by about 11K.

Long dayStandard route from Moose/Angel Lake. Clocked 9 miles on my GPS one way, but I took a slight detour halfway there. Dropped down to Fall Creek and got super lucky on the return. Found a legit game trail and eventually crossed the creek to the real trail on a huge log that spanned the creek.
Also got hit with a huge wind gust near left fork. Saw two trees fall! First for me.

Angels WingsApproached from Moose lake and then over to Angel Lake (what a gorgeous lake), then up the ridge to the summit. Shot down a gully directly towards Moose Lake rather than the tedious hike over to Angels Lake.

long hikewent up Angel's Perch via Moose Lake and Angel Lake. Being too lazy to climb back over the ridge to Moose Lake, I descended below Angel Lake to Fall Creek which was quite a bushwhack. Made for a full day of hiking. Angel Lake may be the most spectacular lake in Idaho. The view from Angel's Perch is quite good- I think Altair may be to most impressive peak from this vantage point.

Toured upper mountainApproached from Moose Lake. Went up north ridge above Angel Lake and climbed narrow towers to east ridge. Then easy Talus to summit. Spectacular views of Pioneers (full 360 pano). Came down loose, steep north face to benches, talus, snow, back to Moose Lake. Awesome!
