Lovely pic

What a great picture - glorious lighting or what?

Re: Lovely pic

Thank you, megitisf. Yes, the colour is entirely due to the lighting, no change was made in tint or hue.

...other planet?

Impressive shot! It looks like a magnified planet (e.g. Mars) appearing over the horizon. What a contrast...

Re: ...other planet?

Thank you toqian. I never thought about it, but yes, indeed it might look like that. It is simply caused by the lower half of the photo lying in the deep shadow of the Sella massif - I actually did my best to make it less dark, but couldn't do it. Perhaps that was for the best.

Re: Lighting

Thank you for your kind comment. It is the last but one of half a dozen pictures, after this the sunlight began to disappear.

Rare alpine splendor...

You people ... looks like you're having so much FUN in ALL of your pictures. Lighting is a difficult thing to come by. The TRICK is to have FUN while you're striving FOR it. Thanks!

Re: Rare alpine splendor...

Thank you for you very kind comment. Yes we were indeed having fun while we watched the light on the mountains growing more and more red, and then suddenly disappear.
