Allen Mountain, Glacier National Park

Allen Mountain, Glacier National Park

Climbing Allen Mountain's northeast ridge involves Class 3 & 4 climbing. Here the group traverses out onto the north face below the "great break," a crampy crack in the cliff face that offers cozy Class 3 climbing with plenty of exciting exposure. This is one of Glacier's most scenic and dramatic non-technical climbs (although inexperienced folks may require a rope on such terrain). Glacier National Park, Summer 2006.

Great picture

This shows what to expect on Allen Mountain and what cool climbing there is on the mountain to do.
This is a mountain I'd want to check out someday.
