Vintage Cable CarHi andre,
when did you take your TM pictures? The cable car has a certain vintage look to it and has seen at least two upgrades since.
Compare ,for example, with this pic.

Re: Vintage Cable CarAhhh... just checked and discovered that the cableway was upgraded in 1997. Your picture does show the contrast of old vs. new quite well though.
Not that I'm partial to taking the cable car up the mountain myself - it kinda detracts from the mountain experience when you're part of the touron hustle and bustle. In the summer months I normally make numerous trips to go climbing on Africa and Fountain ledges and invaribly walk up via the India Fenster route.
Lugging a pack stuffed with climbing kit up there is always somewhat of a rude awakening in the morning! Not recommended after a heavy night. ;-)
