A close up of the last...

A close up of the last segment of the NE Ridge of Kyes Peak in late September 2001. Basically, though we didn't go up there due to lack of daylight, you want to ascend up the fringe of the glacier to where it steepens considerably at the crevasses. With crampons, it would then be possible to climb up to the notch behind the tower at left-center. From there, the route finishes (low class 5) around the corner on the light-gray rock (volcanic breccia). Or, it is conjectured there may be a route along the grassy ledge to the bottom-left corner of the picture then up the rocky gully to the left side of the tower.

Re: Reminds Me

Well, in phonetics, a hard 'c' sounds like a 'k'. This proves then that, in photographics, the same is true: Peak C can look like Peak K. Or something stupid like that. Where's desainme when you need him?

Great shot

I said, hey, what a cool peak this one is. I gotta find my slides from my 1974 trip up it or go back and do it again. I'm really enjoying your page and photos on this peak. Good job.

Re: Great shot

I need to edit this to correct the "page" remark. What I meant to indicate is that you have breathed new life into this peak (and page) via all your photos.
