They ate me alive on McLaughlin just 3 weeks previous to your trip. Maybe they're still digesting the huge amounts of food they got from me.... Nice report.
I don't know where the skeeters were, I was just thankful they weren't there. I did see a large toad and several frogs along the PCT section of the trail. They seemed well fed. :D
